Where Defenders Stand Now

What are defenders seeing right now?

Technology, organizations, business leadership and society. Through conversations with practitioners on each of these front lines, we look at where cybersecurity stands today and what lies ahead.

The cybersecurity landscape is changing significantly.

Attacks are getting faster, dependence on the cloud and supply chains keeps growing, and AI is changing both attack and defense. Yet some problems remain unsolved no matter how far technology advances.

The same problem looks different depending on where you stand: those who research and build security technology, those who protect a company’s business and information assets, those on the front lines of incident response and operations, critical infrastructure, and government.

Through conversations with people in these different positions, Where Defenders Stand Now records the problems at the boundaries of technology, organizations, business leadership and social institutions that product and technology introductions alone tend to miss.
